Hey I'm interested but unfortunately my 2005 wrx blew it's engine
Or at Least I think. It makes a hard knocking sound when it starts idk if a block replacement would be the 1st step to recovery. As Java told me it's very pricey to rebuild boxer engines...Need help please lmk

What you are describing is rod knock due to a spun bearing. Yes u need a rebuild. Since u have a Wrx this would be a perfect upgrade for u at half the price of a new one. You can use your existing heads. All you would need in addition to this motor would be a rebuild gasket set and a few misc items

parts for internals on our boxers are not that much more, bearings, and such...so if you rebuild it urself it wont be any more expensive than a conventional engine. Labor to do them at a machine shop is usually where it gets pricey. if you cant do it your self then i would go with a short block ready to go like what imslow is selling here.
