WTB SR shortblock.
Rob, maybe I wasnt clear so I'll try again.
I got this from GSRCorey on a trade. I gave up a complete R33 RB26dett swap in trade for this engine, an AVIC D3 and $1000 cash. I did this with the understanding that the engine was in good running condition and that he had removed it from the car himself and heard it run. He had it for sale on here for $3000 so I figured I'd be able to get nearly that out of it. I never had ANY intention of using it myself. I sold it for $2k so now I've lost $1000.
I TOLD ALL THIS TO THE SEAN BEFORE HE BOUGHT IT!!!
If he had bought this engine from J-HOT or JDM Engine Depot or one of the many others, it would have came with a 30 day start-up warranty. What do you think they would say when he called them three months later and said that it had a rod knock???? They would have said, sorry, not my responsibility. So, like I said, not my responsibility. They have millions, if they can't afford to worry about things three months later, how can I?
I've seen people get stuck in similar situations on here many times and I've NEVER seen any of the sellers do anything about it. I didnt offer to help because I feel responsible, I offered because I'm a nice guy and I have the ability to help him out.
I think it's funny that no matter how clear and obvious the situation is, so many people on here who don't even know me, immediatly start talking shit about me and about what they'd do if it happened to them and about how mad they are. When the reality of the situation is, if any of you had bought this engine and turned around and sold it, three months later none of you would be willing to come out of pocket any money to fix it and very few of you have the ability to even offer up your time to fix it.
Anyways, try being objective instead of critical before you call someone a crook. I'm meeting with Sean today and I'll do what I can to help him out. I'll do that because that's the type of person I am.
