That was another reason I wanted the car I got for my son,.. it came with a TKO. Figured he could beat on the TKO and it will last a lot longer than trying to source out a T5 every 6 months.

So what is he selling? So much confusion about simple thing.

The last TKO500 I went to buy turned out to be a 3550. I drove 2 hours to help him pull it out of car after he assured me repeatedly he had reciepts and it was fo-sho the right one. I rolled under the car and said aw fuck. He was nice enough to offer it at the same price

The 90 LX we just got the owner showed me paper work for a 10 spline TKO 500!! Had a receipt from a shop that sold him the tranny and the clutch!

I get it home and yank it out,.. turned out to be a 26 spline original 3550 based TKO. They dont know. Look at poor Chad,.. he had both tranny's side by side and couldnt tell the difference.

For $1000 my money says this is a 10 spline 3550,... Thats about what they are going for.
But wouldnt it be a hoot if it turned out to be a T5?

Nice car BTW, If I don't find something I will build him a T5 with the Astro A5 gear set. I beat on one for over a year and never broke it.

 

Yeah you did,.. I offered you mine up for sale but I dont think you liked my price. Mine is the highest rated TKO by anyone out there and is considered the crem de la crem of the TKO's. Kelly had over $4000 in this thing. It will hold up to just about any 8 second or even 7 second motor out there. Though you'd have to be pretty talented to manually shift a tranny like this into the 7's.

I've offered it up for sale a couple of times. But I'm not negotiable on the price and thats where most folks have a problem. I dont think they really understand exactly what this tranny is. I jumped on it when Kelly put it up for sale.
