ok gt 40 heads dont need that much work. the bowls look pretty good just clean up on that and the intake ports. the real work is in the exhaust ports. thats probably why he charges 200.00 probably 6 hrs give or take. a lot of the small block heads were pretty decent in the bowl or under the valves if you get a set of older heads you could be there for days. I did a set of 351 windsor heads for a buddy recently and only took 4 to 5 hrs. I only do heads for myself and friends because its a lot of work. I did a set of 69 windsor heads on my 88 with a 302 it went 11.50 @ 117 all motor so I assume the work was good.

Any ready to get some heads ported?i can also clean up your intakes.i will do your gt40 intakes for $45.thats gasket matching all the ports upper and lower and porting the lower where it meets the heads.there is alot of material to be taken out in that area.i can"t really do to much for the upper,i can"t reach all the way in there lol!

HH or anyone... is it a good idea to port AFR 185's... or out the box is fine with all the r&d put into em from factory/manufacture AFR... Would there truly be a big impact in gains or minimum to were its not worth porting and even possibly messing up such near perfect heads??? *does that make sense? LOL!*

depends on your combo and goals.if you match your heads to your combo you should be fine with the factory ports of the afr.but if you want more power and you have the right cam/intake and cubes to support the heads.to big off a head is almost like putting in to much cam.it will be wasted and combo won"t run as good,if at all.its all about matched parts for your desired power level and rshared_pm band.thats why the gt40 heads take so well to porting.they are not bad heads, they just don"t flow enough to support a health 302 with out some work done to them.
