Project Ralphy
My step son named the car Ralphy.
I turned him on to early Eddie Murphy and he recalled where Eddie was talking about what if Ed Norton and Ralph Cramdon from the Honey Mooners were a couple of faggots. And he laughed his as off when Eddie went,.. "WAY TO GO RALPHY BOY!"
So the name Ralphy stuck.
Anyway,..
This was Adam's (Iwinulose) car.
I should have taken more before pictures but I didnt think about it at the time. And there for a while,.. I wasnt sure I was going to even be able to keep the car. (Long story).
The car is a 93 GT. The body has some dings and neglect. The clear coat is pealing pretty badly. The interior is pretty filthy as well. But the car is rust free and after going over the car. Its really just mostly TLC stuff.
There was a lot of needless clutter under the hood.
The original specs were as follows.
1991 stock short block bored .030 with KB Silvolite pistons with a .20cc dome.
AFR 185 heads
Vic 5.0 intake
30lb injectors
stock fuel rail with adjustable regulator
Professional Products 75mm TB
AFM power pipe
C&L 76mm MAF
BBK 1/58 ceramic long tubes,
2.5" straight pipe,.. no H-pipe into 3" bullet mufflers with turn downs. Some crappy welding on the exhaust too.
T5 tranny with Gforce gears
Stock rear end with 410 rear gear, Looks like UPR upper and lowers.
Coil over suspension front and rear.
Centerline Warriors, 15x8.5 rear and 15x4 up front.
PLEASE HIT REFRESH TO SEE ALL OF THE PICS. THEY DONT ALWAYS SHOW ON THE FIRST LOADING OF THE PAGE.
SHOULD BE 6 PICS IN THIS POST.
Here are some pics as I got the car.

This was the motor.

Still trying to sell this intake if anyone is interested.

So now that the transaction is finalized I've torn into the car and decided to make it how I want it to be.
I had originally wanted to try the EFI and work it out.
But after looking at my budget and my desire to hit the track before Christmas,.. I decided to take things into my own hands and convert the car over to carb.
I picked up a vic jr intake. I've port matched it to a 1262 intake which is what the heads have been port matched to as well. I ported the piss out of the runners and throat area as well.
I'm using a Proform HEI dizzy.
Right now I've got a Holley 600 CFM classic double pumper sitting on it. The carb is temporary. Have a Holley 650 CFM HP carb that should be here before the end of the week.
Keep in mind when looking at the pics.
I am NOT FINISHED. All of the dead wires and vacume lines will be cleaned up. The fuel lines that are hooked up right now are temporary so I could start and move the car. I'm running completely new fuel lines from the tank up.

Here I've used the stock EFI throttle cable.
I've rigged it with a cheap GM style throttle cable bracket from Discount Auto. I think it cost me $9.

Here is why I need an AC delete pulley.
I've only got a limited amount of room to adjust the distributor. So when setting it in,.. you have wire cylinder 1 in an oddball location in order to make it work.

I was too tired to finish the tank and fuel line plumbing.
so far I've already dropped the tank and modified the stock EFI fuel hat so the inline carb pump I have (Should) be able to suck the fuel out of the tank. Worked ok in the 86 I had. Will mount the pump on the rear bumper bracket behind the tank and then run a new fuel line up to the regulator and carb. They way I have it setup I'll be utilizing the stock fuel filter and its location.

Thats it for now.
I've ran it for a little bit off the EFI pump. Some reason the pump would only prime up and then shut off,.. unable to keep the car running for more then 2 - 3 mins till the fuel in the bowls ran out. I fixed the stumble I had coming off idle with the 600 carb. Upped to 67 primary jet and turn up the idle mixure. Turned out to be a lean stumble. Idles smooth now and has a crisp rev. Sucks I'll have to redo everything once the new carb gets here.
Oh yeah,.. and before I forget.
I picked up some new valve covers from 19-camaro-88. Thanks Miles.

I'll post up more as things progress.

No idea. Have not been down the track with it.
When I first got it took it to get a base line dyno pull so I could get a starting point. Brian from EFI_Unlimited was there and I let him do the run. He cut it short,.. it couldnt even get a full pull. He said it was too lean. I looked at the screen and it made 158 hp at 3100 RPM LoL
I dont know what the issue was with the wide band. When I pulled the plugs off the car they all showed the car was running pig rich. So I decided to ditch EFI because obviously a wide band cant be trusted.
I've got some software and when I load up the stats from my current setup it shows it making 477 hp at 6500 RPM at the flywheel. I know its not accurate. I will take it to get another session on the dyno when I'm done to see where its at. I'm going to take a wild guess and assume the car will put down between 340 - 360 at the wheels NA.

When I had it at the track on the EFI setup it could run faster with a driver mod and some suspension tuning. But out of the passes it made best was a 8.31 @ 89.6 with a 1.71 60'. My problem was I was new to ET streets and I'm used to haveing a 2 step but i didnt have one.
Are you gonna part with the 600DP when you get the HP? Have a buddy thats ready to convert to carb, and thats the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks
FYI about that Procomp HEI. If it has the 2 piece shaft deal on bottom of distributor, dont spin it very hard they are weak.
Should be a screamer!!

Far as I know this one has a one piece billet shaft.
Guess I'll find out how good it is when I hit the track.
