Project Ralphy
No pics yet. I want to clean up some more of the engine bay before I do. I want to remove the AC condenser and redo the serpentine belt arrangement. I saw how to remove the AC pump by swapping the tensioner pulley to the other side over the PS pump. I just need to find out what belt # to use.
I took the car out for the test drive today.
Woah,.. lemme tell ya.
I test drove it when I first got it and it had all the EFI still on it. Big difference now with the carb on it. It absolutely does not like much of a load on it below 2000 RPM with this cam. Laid into it up the street a little ways from the house. Spun a little bit at first,.. but once it hooked I was like hot damn,.. where did that come from Went through 1st 2nd and into 3rd. I need a rev limiter badly. It pulls to 7000 RPM too quickly now. Much better then when the EFI was on there. Really put me and Lady Hurst back in the seat.
All was fine on the test drive. Then when I got back home I turned the key off and the motor stayed running. Wouldnt shut off. I had to lift the hood and pull the hot lead off the distributor to shut the car off. Seems I cooked the ignition switch some how. Will look at it tomorrow with some better light. Car is running like a raped ape,.. so I am pretty happy about that.
I'll be out lurking on the weekends soon enough. Couple more weeks and I should have most of the bugs all worked out.

Got some initial numbers.
Went down last weekend to 1320 at Bradenton Friday night and then over to Lakeland on Saturday night.
Not exactly the ET's I was looking for. But I have a base line to start from. And so long as I go faster and not slower,.. I'll be happy.
Best 1/4 mi ET so far was 13.09@109
Best 1/8 mi ET so far was 8.24@88
My 60 foots have been pretty shitty. A combination of things. Me still learning the car,.. trying different RPM's and launching styles,.. slipping the clutch, dumping the clutch etc etc.
Both times at the track I was running 20 PSI in 27x10 ET Streets. I'm going to see if 12 - 15 PSI works better and see if I can get a dead hook with some decent RPM behind it to launch the car.
Had some issues with the carb. Had a off idle stumble and just didnt have the time to dedicate to fixing it. So I PM'd Na306StAnG so see what he would charge to tweak the carb for me. I couldnt turn down the price he offered to do it at so I trailered the car down to him. One thing lead to another and next thing I know he had the carb done. Went to larger jets front and rear, larger squirter, chaged the power valve and adjusted the pump cams. Motor is very happy now,.. really seems to like the new carb settings.
Shawn also put on the power steering relocation bracket and relocated the power steering pump to where the A/C compressor was. He cleaned up under the hood a little for me. Got rid of all the EFI wiring harness and things that were in the way. Looks a lot better under the hood now.
BEFORE:

AFTER:
With power steering pump relocated but still have all the EFI wiring laying around.

Now with the EFI wiring cleaned up:

Still have a long way to go.
Slowly getting things done.
I'm aiming for some high 11 sec ET's for the 1/4 mi N/A on motor and some 1.5 - 1.6 60 ft times. Once I have that dialed in I will work toward getting nitrous hooked up and getting that dialed in for some 10 sec ET's hopefully.

GET SOME

Wait were you on McMullen Booth last night and took a left at Seven Springs? Looked exactly like this car. Was revving his shit at my girls white N/A but didn't want the TT. I hit it hard at the light but no go, haha. It had a vanity plate though. Is it you?
Edit: Nvm, it was shiny blue w/ white racing stripes. Headed into NPR though. Maybe you know the guy. License plate read : "YUSLW" - why you slow

She declined and told him what a fool he was,.. his reply was,.. "Thats how we roll". What a fucking tool. Didnt have the common sense God gave a rain drop.
