what are you trying to do? turbo setup? id run the itr with full bolt ons and a good tune, you should be able to get a good amount of power out of it all motor. but if your looking to turbo the best setup would probably be a ls/vtec turbo, or you could just buy new pistons for the type r motor

I don't know why people comment on topics they no nothing about type R compression is 11.1.1 which is not that high. The red EK that is in my sig is a type r Boosted it made 307whp at 10psi's with a very very conservative tune and it has been running for 2 years and it doesn't even burn a drop of oil. I have boosted many motors with type R compression and never had an issue as long as you get a good tune you will be fine. With the higher compression less boost is needed to gain HP but the higher compression increases temp inside the combustion chamber which can cause ringland failure but if you do the math anything under 12 psi's and under will not increase the EGT enough to cause any significant difference. BOOST the TYPE R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
