There is only one way to build a "poor man's type r". GSR block/crank/rods, type r pistons (b16 pistons would work also), B16 head w/ type r cams. Oh yeah, you can't use the crank/piston/rod combo you selected.

You cant use LS crank w/ GSR rods.

& ls pistons wouldn't be a great choice.

GSR block, LS crank/rods/p73 pistons, b16 head, ITR cams and springs. This will net you a stroked GSR with basically and ITR head.

You gotta match the rods and the crank. So if gsr/type R crank gsr/TypeR rods. LS crank ls rods. If you don't have any of the parts yet go with the ls 89mm crack gives you more displacement. If you already have a GSR engine stick with it and throw valve/springs/retainers/cams and bolt on's. If this is gonna be a n/a application go with something like b16/type R piston for higher compression.

I'm building a B18b1 right now probably going to use the Integra Type R P73 pistons rather than the Civic Type R p30's for higher comp. The PCT however raise Comp. to high 12's or low 13's. To high for my set up. Use this website it helps A LOT!!!!!! zealautowerks.com
