Default 94 Delsol Si Build Project

Hey Guys, so I picked up this shell for 500. Its a 94 Si with a nearly empty engine bay and alot of interior missing. I plan to put in the origingal d16z6 and my goal is 400whp turbo, this will be my first turbo car. I am going to start by putting in the d16z6 and all the engine guts to get her running and go from there. I have a second z6 which will be the engine I will be doing all of the motor and head work to while the stock z6 ill keep in as I replace individual pieces to make sure they are installed propperly. Once the motor work is mostly complette I'll put the final version of the engine in the car and I can start to test/tune it.

I appreciate the input. I have owned a DOHC and after doing some research, building SOHC and while pricing is going to be my rout.

list of plans:
-cryo the block
-forged overbore selves
-bisimoto forged pistons/rods
-d17 crank
-Skunk2 cams
-Skunk2 intake
-port polish head
-Springs and Valves
-bismoto headers
-Mfactory axels

Just some of the parts I am pritty solid on my decisions.
I do want to go turbo, but need to educate my self on more turbo stuff.

I was just saying your going to waste all that money on thos parts and it still would not beat a stock gsr swap.sohc are waste of money unless ur useing it for gas mileage, but good luck on ur setup,

I spent all day yesterday, cleaning the engine bay and I almost got Half done. I'm going to finish it out monday and prep all the parts for the install. Anyone have advise for things I should look out for while doing this?

lol you wont make anywhere near 400whp on a sohc. an ls with forged rods and pistons will make a lot more power for a lot less money

im all for doing what you want, and i love a good project but 400whp. i would beef up an ls a lil and boost that. much more power, about the same money wise. but its what ever, if youve got your heart set on single cam then go for it.

post pics of engine bay!

thnx for the support teg.

Today I numbered and labeled all my wires and hoses for an ez hook up once the engine is being put it, that way I'm not fumbling around or anything doesn't get blocked or to short to match up.

I also starting taking the clutch plate and flywheel of a spare engine I'd had..
Tips: Use impact wrench, spray with carb cleaner or wd40, and pray they don't strip shit.

and uhh yea...

I don´t know why people keep thinking single cams wont make power. As a matter of fact single cams make great power and 400hp is not far fetched especially with the rite turbo.
I know a single cam with rods pistons mild head work with a cam and a gt35r thats make a little over 400 whp your biggest problems will be the tranny trying to hold up thats about it. Always remember to use quality parts to reach your goal and get a good tuner for it personally i would go with John Vega. just my 2 cents
