Difference in wastegates?
ooh. so i set it with a 9psi spring, but i will be able to bump it up to 20psi and track day. cool. so theyre are vaccum sensitive and when you let of the gas it opens?

why some people dont like the deltagate is because the valve where it dispenses exhaust gas is a lot smaller than the tial. so what happens is there too much exhaust gas produced under high boost and the wastegate cant vent it all out thru this small valve, thus creating 'boost creep', which is when the boost goes above the desired wastegate level.
hope that helps

I know exactly what boost creep is, but not because all my friends use deltagates.
Go here http://www.boostvalve.com/tech/TECII.html and look where it says "boost level". This is a deltagate running about 16psi on a 6psi spring (using the boost valve from the site), those fluctuations you see are far less than any humanly perceptable level, and are rock steady despite shifting and such.
Oh and BTW, check out the MAT (manifold air temp) going down throughout the run. This car doesn't use an intercooler, just alky injection which we all know doesn't work worth a squat

i know im wrong but it sounds like when you hit 9psi it opens to prevent you from getting any more boost. or does it open if you set the boost higher? ive never gotten this indepth with turboes and im glad im doing it now.

My friend with an internal wastegate forgot to reconnect his boost controller and when he laid into it last weekend taking me for a ride it saw 35 lbs of boost. Oopsie but since it's a Ford, it just went really fast and lived to race another day
now just toss 118 octane into the mix
