where does the ext waste gate mount.
i see them mounted to the manifold but i look at other place and they are just bolted up to the turbo. is there a difference there. im trying to figure out the turbo stuff before i put anything on my car.

Well, internal means that its a part of the turbo as it came from the factory. External would then mean anything else.
I've seen externals that use the stock WG hole in the turbine housing, and I've seen externals that had a flange welded right to the scroll of the turbine (seems to be a neat setup) so its tough to explain the difference since things aren't done traditionally all the time. Basically, its one of those things you just know.

but this picture shows what ludespeed had for an external waste gate that looks like it ran off the turbo instead of the manifold and vented back into the exhaust instead of the atmosphere.
oh and thats a dsm intercooler modified to a liquid intercooler. nice huh?

The one in the Kit pic is a tial, and they are showing a deltagate mounted in the second pic, this kit shows the wastegate mounting to the side of the turbo, then dumping back into the exhaust... Very nice! Wish mine did that, it'd free up some space, not dump on my a/c compressor and be a lot more efficient!
