Default Boost loss.
I recently upgraded my intercooler. Before this upgrade my boost you level out ~6.5-7psi steady with the stock wastegate and no boost controller. Now it's ~5psi... Would the larger intercooler have something to do with this? Could I just be losing boost somewhere?

One of the bigger thing to look for, especially in a HUGE front mount, is efficiency. Chances are, bigger intercooler = more pressure drop. That is given your piping is right, and your couplers are tighter than a virgin in prom night.

when u add more space u get a pressure drop. u could also be losing pressure if u didnt hook it up right. check all the hoses and clamps to make sure. how much bigger is ur new IC?

It's about 2x the size of my 2g DSM sidemount which was stock.
it's an EVO VII HKS intercooler.

Just adjust your boost controller to make up for the pressure difference and all will be well.

Wow, I'll try that tomorrow while Im at work, Thanks T.
Not using an MBC yet. Keeping her at stock boost for a while until I get my AF checked, the MBC is VERY hard to get right.

but the longer you make the vacuum line, the less responsive the wastegate will become.

don't exceed 3 feet on that line. if you go over 3 feet, you may as well adjust the wastegate instead to be more reliable.

Didn't work, still only have 5psi I moved the line from the compressor to the BOV. I'll try the intake manifold.

What configuration is the new IC? Which way do the tubes run, and how many and how long? Did you do your homework on intercoolers before you bought one? (no. that's why everyone buys the ones with the tubes running the long way and then wonders why they get such a big pressure drop). But what the fuck do i know, i dont drive an import
