I already have an air to air fmic and was just thinking about how I would have to route the pipes to the ic and back to the intake compared to an a/w setup, plus I thought the sleeper idea of not having a big fmic might be cool to but its not worth it.

I still need to figure out how to route the plumbing on my a/a fmic though. I have a few Ideas but the prob is that none of the pictures I have found shows the pipes just the turbo and mani.

yeah, this is for my crx. I was thinking of running the piping from the compressor through the same hole that the ac condensor and windshield washer bottle use and then come over to the ic. then from the ic up the original hole that the stock intake uses. this way there is no cutting needed to be done to the metal of the car.

the closest I can make out on any pictures is that the pipes stay low, almost parallel to the ac compressor and I can only imagine that a hole is cut for the piping, but not sure.

if you have any pics or links for a close up of this part please let me know.

You can just get your front mount Swaincoated black if you want a sleeper look.

does the coating cause any loss in the heat transfer properties of the ic?

some finishes liek chrome definitely hold heat. this causes the air flowing through to get hotter and defeats the purpose of having an intercooler. it looks ugly after a while too.

In this case, the "Swain" coating does not negatively effect the intercoolers cooling properties... In fact, I have heard that it improves them by making the IC more resistant to becoming heat soaked....
