internal or external wastegate

Default internal or external wastegate

the guy i bought my t3/t4 turbo did not know if it was internal or external waste. how can i tell by looking at hte turbo which it is. thanks

if it is internal it will have a 3-4 inch metal arm with a vacuum diaphragm about the size of an egg, with a flapper valve inside the exhaust section about the size of a nickel, if NOT then it would be a perfectly sealed exhaust housing with nothing on it

yeah..external would be mounted on the manifold, not the turbo
