Methanol
Methanol
What changes to the fuel system / engine are required to run Methanol? Just pondering it for a race car, would be carbureted.
Methanol is 25% oxgenated, so an A/F ratio of 10:1 seems like it would be ideal.

You will need a special fuel pump, fuel lines, carb, fuel cell, basically the whole fuel system. To maximize its use, if you're N/A, you should have about 13:1 compression as well. You will also need to change the oil after every day of racing as well. Its a pretty big commitment, especially for an N/A car where the power increase won't be as dramatic.
