I've been looking into get an slr for a while now. My budget is 600. From my research I've found the the canon has more lense options, and has a better auto focus. The Nikon is 14mp with 1080p, but the canon is 12.

sense I'm a beginner which would you say is better?

 

2 megapixels is not that big of a difference. Go to the store and get an idea about which one feels best in your hands. Lenses are where it's at, though.
