Oh and with that zoom you must come to the zoo meet up!
LOL, I knew that holding the lens like that would look pretty funny. I already love the D90 as I probably took near 100 pics on it and I got it at noonish today. The grip is awesome but it's a lot of camera to hold.

I wish I could go with you guys to the Zoo, but I live in Atlanta now. However, I am already headed to the Atlanta Zoo tomorrow, so I'll post pics tomorrow evening from my trip.

Well unfortunately I didn't like the Bamboo even after adjusting settings and it just made things still complicated while doing things in PS. Using my mouse seems a lot better . This is just my own preference though. I have to say though, those tablets are a pretty cool especially if you like to draw.

So I returned it this morning and got a new lens... Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 .

I want a 35 now, too.

And I love my 70-300. I've contemplated selling it to fund a 70-200 2.8 VR, but I just couldn't do it. It's sharp and I love the extra 100mm out of it.

This is very nice lens, I'm loving it so far and think I will be using it a lot. Very light, compact, versatile, and most of all very sharp. The 70-200 is definetely a nice lens but I'm with you with the 70-300. Although mine is a Tamron I like the extra 100mm. My next lens will be a wide angle just not sure yet which to get.

The 70-300 was great to me today at the Atlanta Zoo. However, I made the most rookie mistake and forgot to check the ISO when I pulled it out this morning. I was messing around with some shots last night from my balcony, and forgot to change the ISO from 3200. So ALL my shots are awesome, and have great composition, except for the fact they're all grainy and have a crap ton of noise.....

What a dummy I was...

I've done stuff like that plenty of times but I've gotten into a routine now where whenever I pull out the camera for a shoot I go through all the settings and make sure there right.

I check the shooting mode/exposure comp, aperture/shutter speed, iso, white balance, photo quality(RAW), metering mode, and focus mode. And since the d90 has a button on the body for all those settings is only takes a second.

Yeah, live and learn I guess. Either way it was $15 for me to get into the Zoo, it's only 10 mins from where I live, and it's something that can be easily corrected. Like I said, rookie mistake that I should've just taken that extra minute to correct. What's worse I think is that I didn't notice as I was going around the zoo. Probably just excitement to shoot on the D90 and the 70-300 took over and I was in a hurry to test the lens as best I could.

Been there. I shoot all of my son's senior pics at 1600 ISO on my xsi which means that they were full of noise! It sucked. Noise Ninja took some of it out but not much lol
