I have to disagree here. Ken Rockwell is a joke, he's too opinionated to be of much use IMO. Also, he has reviews on his site for equipment that he states he's never used.

 

I guess, in my experience with his information, his lens specifications, distortion correction numbers and reviews on AF speed and sharpness performance have been fairly accurate and useful to equipment I wanted to buy and have used.

His tutorials are descriptive for starting out too...

I do see what you mean by being opinionated. I've read tons of reviews saying "sharpest mid range zoom EVER" but I don't really read his intros... I usually skip to his pictures, numbers and reviews on performance. But to each his own, I know he's not perfect or anything, haha.

Yeah i can see both sides. He is opinionated in many ways, but if you read in between his personal thoughts there are alot of solid facts that can help you educate yourself and build your own opinion. Aside from him there is one site i go to that is more in depth on the tech side of it for most things Nikon. I highly recommend it. You can check it out HERE
