Default Wanna purchase an SLR Please Give me your Input

I have decided i want a Cannon and think i wanna go with this model:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i 15.1MP Digital SLR Camera, Case and Extra Lens from best buy for 969.97 says save 204.00 by getting this package deal. Lens is a Canon - 55-250mm f/4-5.6 Telephoto Zoom Lens. Tell me what you think, dont wanna spend more than 1k unless theres something better around same price.. your input is appreciated.

Heres the Link to the best buy add, i am going there cuzz i have a best buy card thats really the only reason.. If theres an amazing price somewhere else please advise me..

I've heard great things about the T1i so far but blowing all your money on a a body and one lens just seems foolish to me. It's just not an entry level camera but what the hell do I know.

Check out this thread. It's got plenty of options in there

theres two lenses i thought, the stock 18-55 and the 55-250mm so what your saying is that its best to just get the body and lens separate?

For the price, there is nothing better.

That is all.

Buy a camera that does what you need it to do not one that looks pretty in your hands, here is a nice guide Buying a digital SLR: Guides: Learn: Digital Photography Review, personally I like nikons but canons are more affordable!

This buy looks quite adequate for auto photography (some may disagree), but put a point and shoot in the hands of a good photographer and you will be surprised at the quality you get. Anyways it the same price at amazon without the bag would check B&H though the package deals are quite good!

All the best...

Personally I would'nt buy a camera from BestBuy. It's a chain store, they just want to sell it to you and get you the hell out lol.

I use Adorama.com and they have good prices. I recently just sold my XSi to a friend, and I have no idea why but I ordered the T1i on Tuesday night. I got the camera, 18-55mm, 16GB memory card and a lens polarizer for $680 to my door. Granted, I got a Refurbished model... it's about $70bucks less than a new one. But IMO it's better, considering someone will be going through the camera to make sure everything checks out perfectly before I get it. I could get that 250mm BestBuy has in the deal refurbished for about $200, so I can still make off cheaper than you. I could even buy another case (already have one from my XSi) and still only spend about $910bucks!
