and btw, since a bunch have asked me. these were all taken with just a 430ex speedlite, on camera.

indoor shots were with the flash bounced off the ceiling/wall behind me. outdoor shots were all with the flash pointed directly at the subject.

Nice shots, cute chick.

Maybe slightly rotate the first one, and crop it to 4x5?
... exclude the foremost tree on the right edge and take the rest off the left side?
I think that would give a little better comp and put a bit more emphasis on her.

Edit:
Of the second set, I think she gets a little lost in the first one.
The second is nice, and she looks super hot in that dress... but I think a second light to rimlight her would help separate her from the background.

Overall, nicely done.

That's rediculous.
Shit, it's depressing... I'm so old.

You've got some very nice portraits there.
Got a flickr acct or something?

Edit: Nevermind, I opened my eyes.

Everyone is a fan boy for AB's. Look into other lights as well. All the ones that NTP offers are great and they have kits that are really awesome to start out with and it comes with everything for like +/- $500 for one of the better kits.

They have all these:
Interfit
Photogenic
Wescott
Elinchrom
Photoflex
Profoto
Photek
RPS Studio Systems
Bogen Imaging
Savage Paper

I asked them straight up about the AB's and such, and they are almost a proprietary deal, and theres only like one place/person you can send it to to get fixed or checked out. So say if you bought here, its local (somewhat) and there wouldnt be as much down time etc etc...AB's do great, but I have just been doing my research and have seen what would be more logical and stuff...

AB's have a lot of fans because they're pretty inexpensive for a solid tool...

I've used Profoto gear before and loved it.
We were supposed to get some free Profoto gear because of a big demonstration we did with it last year, but my partner was the contact and never got off his ass to call the rep

After looking through your pics, I remember the shots of Dezirae... I'm gonna add you as a contact.
