Looking for some assistance.
Alright this is kinda a noob question but i just got myself a d40 and well when i take pictures they look great on the screen but when i port them over to my computer they are always small and blurry and grainy.Like they look very detailed and good on the camera but when i pull them into photoshop or the nikon software they look like a shitty point and shoot. What am i doing wrong?I tried searching but the way i was wording it i didnt get what i was looking for.

iso is too high
check your resolution
check aperture (f-stop)
what mode are you in, and what are/were your settings?

this thread is now useless without pics lol
if you post up a few shots we will be better able to help you. granted it sounds like its set on auto iso and you are just getting grainy pictures from that

Well, a few things play a role in your pictures being as you described.
Inside Pictures - It may be too dark.
Pictures of Dogs - Are they moving? That could be a problem.
Grain - ISO, as already stated. Really, your ISO should never leave 100-400.
Post examples so we can further help you.

As they all said, upload them to Flickr with your exif still attached (you can set that in your personalization on Flickr) so we can view the settings you used.
