fish eye
haha NO! Step down as in length! But as you've done, I'll just toss a TC on it, and be right back in the range as I was before, maybe even a little farther with a 2x...
I wouldnt be getting a 55-200, planning on the 80-200 2.8

fisheye's are all about getting close to objects, not trying to fit everything into one shot
IE:
It looks good when showing off certain features of a car

but just looks weird trying to squeeze multiple cars into one pic

this 55-200 VR. the $215 one from amazon with free shipping. not the cameta camera one
Amazon.com: Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Zoom Nikkor Lens: Electronics
the lens you posted wont auto focus on your camera. If its a sigma lens it must say HSM to autofocus on your camera

As soon as you get your fisheye I want to see some pics!
I have a crappy little fisheye that I bought for my last camera that just screws into the lens thread. It does what I wanted it to do, take weird/cool pics but its seems kinda heavy. You think it would hurt my kit lens if I used it?

Don't buy that 55-200VR, buy mine! I'll let you have it for $175 and it's basically brand new. I have the box, manual etc... I have one other person interested, but if she doesn't want it then you should buy it.
