::Photos:: Exotic Car Runway Event - '09
I thought I would share my latest event that I covered a couple days ago with you fellow car nuts.
Runway Event 2009
I had the opportunity to photograph this particular event recently. It consisted of 2 miles of open runway, tens of millions of dollars in super cars, and legally racing to 200mph...what more could you want?
Many many more photos can be located here: Chris Grosser Photography
My quick summary of the entire 12 hours of racing madness on my blog: 200MPH - The New Standard?
One blog that has picked up my work and article already, courtesy of Automotive Addicts: 200MPH Club: The Benchmark Has Been Set - Can You Keep Up?
Some photos I took to give you guys a glimpse of the madness from that day:
215mph? No problem in the Saleen S7:

One of a couple twin turbo Gallardos - SO FAST:

Lamborghini Superleggera in white - 1/10 if I remember correctly:

World famous Sharpie Lambo:

TT Gallardo from Underground Racing - speculated at 1300+hp. I wouldn't doubt it for a second. Not too many cars were willing to race him throughout the day.

My good friend's Bentley in which he took me for a ride in and we hit 175mph....with air conditioning blowing at full force.

look good. did you get any over-all pics from the heli, and of like the whole runway and stuff?
I'll talk to ya more about it later in class

Yep, I managed to bring out two helicopters.
I've set up aerial photography before with exotics and we had the same intentions for this event. I was to do the aerial photography and my good friend was doing the video footage for a DVD to be sold later.
Things went sour between a couple individuals and the dual helis were on their way within 30 minutes.
It's a shame, this event had all of the makings for a crazy Top Gear photo shoot / episode and then failed.
Regardless, I am in the works of getting a board together and setting up this event again with a different set of faces behind it and try to make the helicopter footage work.
