Default about to buy a DSLR

tax returns are awesome, and I've been wanting a good camera for a long time. Im still a beginner and here are my options..
These are not links dont click on them.... they wont work...
Nikon D40 (w/18-55mm Lens)
Sony Alpha A200 (w/18-70mm Lens)
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Black (w/EF-S 18-55 Lens)
Olympus EVOLT E-510 (w/ 14-42mm and 40-150mm Lenses)
I also heard that ritz camera has some sort of sweet equipment protection plan? is this true?
any opinions are welcome, as of now the olympus looks like the best bargain.

IMO you're best going with either the Canon or the Nikon. Don't forget that you're not only investing in a camera, but a system of cameras, lenses and accessories. Canon annd Nikon have the widest range of equipment and accesories. You could compare it to buying a Honda or a Hyundai - they're both going to do the same thing, but one of them has more support when you want to upgrade.

Also, I have no way of telling you which one is or isn't a bargain because you didn't post links or prices. What brand are the lenses that come with the Olympus?

That's information that you're going to want to find out. If it's from Ritz, they're probably Quantaray, which is better avoided IMO.

The ones listed are the olympus lenses. Only downside to olympus is they are 2x lens factor, so it be really hard to get a real wide angle for their system. Their stuff is nice though.

Interesting Mars, I didn't know that. Presumably that means that there will be more distortion in the wider lenses than there would be with 1.5x and 1.6x systems.
