i have the olympus dslr. i love it, i was at ritz today on my lunch break and they will be carrying more optional lenses for the olympus now, they already ordered them. my olympus uses the 4/3 systems lens which is easy to find online for sale. i have found a few websites with some wide angle lenses and such for them. all in all it is up to you, and doesnt really matter what any of us say. but my personal opinion about my camera is i love it and for my skill level, which is just starting out ( only my second dslr) it works great

Go Canon if you plan to go beyond the kit lens. Canon's L series lenses are awesome!! The XSi is an improvement over the XTi, but you can probably steal an XTi right now as the XSi is introduced. Get an XTi on the cheap and move up to a full-frame 5D (or whatever replaces it by the time you are ready).

My 2 cents.
