Default So I'm thinking of going for one of these

packages. but it seems a little sketchy IMO. I can't figure why they're giving these away practically (Black body Rebel XTi [400D/350D]). I wanted to go with the package that offers the 28-80mm f/3.5 and a 75-300mm and a whole lot of other goodies, also says that these come with a year-long warranty. Wondering what input I can get on whether or not to follow through on this entry level DSLR. I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions.

I've had two bad experiences with companies like this.

1. I ordered a camera and they never did send it after countless phone calls and excuses on there half.

2. The site says 299. When they ship it and bill you, you get pounded with hidden charges. Ends up being close to 5 when done.

Just go on eBay and get a body for close to the same price.

Before you buy a camera from ANY company, check Compare Prices, See Store Reviews and Ratings by Real People first. I guarantee their rating will be low, and there are plenty of reasons why.

Don't buy from them.

+1

Most of the time if you find a "deal" like this with prices a few hundred dollars less than reputable dealers such as B & H or Amazon it's probably a scam and your going to end up very unhappy.

I think these kits were not for the US version XTi anyway...that's the only conclusion I could come up with, that and a far east fellow that answered my phone call to the company and didn't go into detail as far as what software comes with the kit and the extremely low price to begin with.

This scam is VERY well documented. Pick up Popular Photo Magazine, this months' issue has an article about it.
