Wasn't aiming to see the subject, if I wanted to see them I would have shot a closer shot--but I didn't.
I have no interest in the subject, its about the feel of the photo. Shows a different shade of light. My vision was to portray a long view of a dock, while my subject looks in.
I like to think its fine-art, not commercial art.

I could see where you're coming if they were just hanging out, leaning against the rails facing each other, as if in conversation. But as it sits now, it just looks like you were too far away form the subject while trying to do a family portrait, and are playing it off like you meant to do that.
I see what you're saying, but (while "fine art" is up to anyone's interpretation) i think if it were a fine art shot, they wouldn't have been looking at and posing for the camera.

At no time did I try to see their faces. I knew before taking the shot that being as far away from them as I was, with a wide angle lens I was going to never be able to see there face.
Not every photo your suppose to see the face of the subject. I shot this because it looked nice to me. Maybe not as nice to you or others but the fact I liked it.
But thanks for your thoughts.
