every make and model of vehicle has its quarks at different mileage and what not- fords trannys go after 120,000, chevys well... theyre always gonna be chevys... whats the word on beemers? what are some typical things to look for when shopping and owning one?

Which model? E30? E46? E90? I'm no expert but things are going to vary from models made 20 years ago vs. today.

im lookin between 91-96 325...ish i want a 6 cyl with a 5 speed idealistically...

make sure it has an engine and tires.

yeah... i was suprised though i always looked at them as chick cars but i really like some of the ones ive seen on tr and on autotrader... and on ebay most of the aftermarket parts are pretty reasonable- coming from an explorer...

They are nice cars and the pricing keeps coming down. Do yourself a favor and at least shop around for an E36 M3. They are quite the car and they have dropped a lot in price. I am not sure what your range is but if you could swing one that platform is a much better starting ground than just a standard 3 series (no offence to anyone on here with a standard 3, I hope you understand what I am getting at)
