Default question about KA-T

Looking to trade my s13 for a s14 thats KA24DET. He is replacing the pistons and rings to refresh the engine. Over all it has a t25 set up, isis intercooler, isis aluminum radiator with electric fans, bigger injectors, greddy tuned ecu(p manage), aeromotive a1000 with fuel cell, running 8 psi at 280 hp, and a z32 maf.
So anyways i heard ka's arent too strong and that you shouldnt turbo them but over all it doesnt seem like a bad set up. i just want to get other peoples opinions too before i trade. my car is a s13 coupe stock ka24de with coils and simple stuff, the reason this guy wants to trade is because hes having a kid and has a cage in the s14 so he wants a car without one and he liked my coupe. but any info will help, thanks guys!

A stock block could easily handle 8psi with a t25 as long as it has a good tune.

id keep it at 8 until you know whats in the motor.....

maybe drop in a stock motor, with same set up at 8 psi

tear down good motor see what it needs to be perfect......

blow the stock motor for fun, then swap em back, safest bet imho

edit: im boosting my coupe when i pick up a new dd. prob gonna run same setup. t25 8-10 pounds

Lol @ pussies that put t25's on ka's like these engines cant handle more than 200whp.

18-22 psi daily driven for 3 years.

yea im sure it can handle more power but on stock internals is what im wondering about. after you get aftermarket pistons and rods what would the max hp you could run without building the head or any other major work internally

My motor was stock! Like stock head bolts, stock gaskets, stock rods, stock pistons. Tune it or lose it! That's my motto. 400whp on a stock bottom end ka isn't anything new. It's been going on since 2004.
