I Need some suggestions...
I Just inherited a 1993 300ZX from my Grandfather... he was the original Owner bought it with 12 miles on it , kept it all these years.. I picked it up last week from him.. Car mechanically and electronically is perfect.. 185k on the Clock, Mint Interior , A/C , P/S .. always maintained at Z-Docs (before I picked it up he had them change the third brake light with a strange OEM 13Watt Bulb from Nissan) OEM parts were always used, fuel injectors already been replaced ( One of the common failures I learned after doing research on it.)
Only Problem with it is its Paint is Fading pretty bad.. and the reasoning is its always parked outside.. he goes to Atlanta back and forth alot and most of the time the car sits outside (He has an Aston Martin Vantage in the garage , id keep this one outside too but still )
Im getting the car repainted soon , looking into a front and rear bumper replacement.. I have this one bumper That I find very attractive but would like some input from fellow Nissan Owners...
What do you think? its no overly aggressive but looks very clean..
TwinZ Design Z32 Type II Rear Bumper

and should I get the Front Bumper to match? Mine has a cracked Lower piece ( like most Zs I see)
I cant find a pic of it besides from their website..

Opinions please! Thanks!

A definate upgrade in my opinion. I know I've thought on more than one occasion that the exhaust on the z32 hangs out a little too much below the rear bumper. The design you are looking at getting makes it looked tucked up and/or hidden. The twin outlet mufflers look slick...not a fan of the double fart can look.

As for the fart can look, its because most z32 owners are kids who had riced out civics and finally had enough cash to step up to a fast(er) car so they picked up a busted, turbo 300. Makes me sad. But, it could be worse I guess.
Back to the point, the rear looks good. Be careful with your color choices. I have seen that rear on some cars and it looks ricey as hell, (usually the red cars) but then on other cars, it looks slick as fuck. The one black one I saw just looked off since the black of the paint and the black lower section colors clashed.
If you can pull it off, it can look really good.
Matches well even with the stock JDM front end.
Anything worth having is worth waiting for. Someone said that once...its true about a lot of things including car parts...lol.

Hell yeah...silver is one of the better colors on a z32 too, set that off with darker wheels (IMO), very nice. I think they are under appreciated. Yeah you need a lot of power to make them fly because they are heavy, but thats just it...They are a true GT, more comfortable than a s13. I'm headed to NC to tour the Dragon in a few weeks and although I'll love having my 240 up there i know i'd enjoy the roadtrip to NC more so in a Z car than my buzz (in comparison) 240.

having made the switch from the 240's to the 300's, I can tell you that they are under appreciated in the sense of being a sports car. But that's to an extent. In the 240 world, its like anything was possible. There was so much knowledge out there that you could google an idea, and get good solid information to support it. In the 300 world, everything revolves around the bolt on. I mean, with 240's, people have rebuilt their engines in their kitchens. When it comes to 300's, the default answer is to either do a bolt on and be happy with it, or take it to a shop.
They aren't the most simple thing to work on, I'll give you that. But it is still all relative. With a 240, you can change out the intake and do a cone filter in under 30 minutes. and that's including the time it takes to crack open the beers. I just removed my stock air box and installed the Stillen cone filter (or Pop charger as "they" call them) and it took a solid 2 hours. It was the same screwdrivers, pliers and 10mm that it is on the 240, but there was just so much more to do.
Personally, for me, the only difference is, the 300 has more steps to accomplish the same thing, and that turns a lot of people off. It isn't any "harder" than working on a 240. Its just that it takes more time and that's why people don't build them up. If it isn't an off the shelf, bolt on part, it just doesn't get done.
BUT
the big difference is the way the general public appreciates a Z. Everyone has a story about them. Everyone loves them. Everyone has a "I remember when... " kind of story. My Z isn't the cleanest thing, It needs paint, the power steering pump is going bad on it. Its stock all the way around. The driver's seat has tears in the leather, but people still want to come up and talk about it. The average person veiws the Z as a sports car, where as, they view the 240 as a car kids drive around town in. Its like they view the Z with a certain level of class that the 240 just doesn't have.
So I guess it is give and take in that regard.
In the Z community, people "shun" you for coming up with off the wall ideas. They tell you how it can't be done, isn't worth it, or is just a dumb idea. The same kind of things that are common place in the 240 world. Like a right hand drive swap. You'll have "Z people" argue with you about all of the reasons it is a stupid idea. It isn't any more or less work to do a swap on a Z than it is to do the same swap on a 240. By all rights, doing it on a Z is probably cheaper since you can pick up a whole front clip for about 2.5K including the engine.
They have a bad rap about being "heavy" Yeah, they weight more than a 240 does, but they still weigh less than the same generation camaro. The NA ones are slow. But so is driving a 240 with bolt ones. My NA Z would beat my buddies 240 and he has a KA with a list of bolt ones. Even though his 240 had a faster "sense of speed"
I could go on and on and on ranting about this. But it really just comes down to there are Z enthusiasts and then there are people who own Z's. Same could be said about 240's. The difference is, there aren't enough true Z enthusiasts with the means to really get in there and build their cars. And those people get over shadowed by the kids who bought a Z because it was twice as fast as their civic and they can get a sweet Vadar extreme body kit for it and pick up bitches with the tops off.
ok, I'm slapping my hands off the keyboard before I get worked about about it again
lol

I find they both have the same wind noise problems (indicative of this style of door)
They both have the same road noise problems. (but then again, I have driven some Z's that were far quiter)
Personally, I found the 240 easier to see out of in all directions. Its almost like you can't see as much, or as well out of the mirrors because of their positioning as compared to the 240.
But, with that said, the Z does have a certain appeal that once you get settled in and your just cruising, that you just don't get from a 240. Its like, the Z isn't any work to drive. It just cruises. whereas the 240s seemed more like you had to pay attention to everything.
