Exactly, but re-read this thread and tell me if the OP seems like he can either afford to, or will do it, the "right" way the first time. A budget build of boost on a non-boosted motor often ends in a second "repair" budget.

In reality there is no "budget/cheap" way to get a reliable 300whp. You gotta pay to play. Do it right or do it twice.

Austin, its all going to be as reliable as the quality of the parts, and how well its put together.

I drove my SR straight to indianapolis, and stopped in atlanta on the way back, a few days after assembling the engine, straight trip with only stopping for gas and drive-thru food.

Yet you say an SR cant be reliable, it's all in the quality of the parts, and assembly.

I never said an sr is unreliable. Its just easier for me to get parts for the ka and having more experince with a ka that makes me lean towards a ka. As far as parts go i was plannig on doing a megan manifold and down pipe, a rebuilt t28, 550s at tommy's recomendation, arp head studs, oem rebuild and tune up, and il proble have martin tune it regardless.

Dump the t28 for a 50 trim imo and go top mount with a cast or log manifold. Megan is trash and will crack on you. The extra $200 will go a long way. Spend your money on quality injectors, a good tune, and a good cooling system.

^ haha awesome. For real though 240's in general suck. Nobody should ever spend more than 10-12k on one (including the price of the vehicle).

Well, in a perfect world 10k should get you an unmolested chassis, full suspension and 300-350whp

^ not anymore... couple years ago, yeah sure. 10k would get you that, and pay for insurance for 6 months...
over the last couple of years, drift tax has pretty much killed that.
