ever since i saw/rode it in the old elis autoworkz 450sx with charlie, ive been in love. it felt like the power was more than enough for what im looking for. if you were to blow up the motor, theyre retardly cheap and everywhere. ive seen what it does in justins Q45 too, and that car was pretty fucking heavy when i drove it. mazworxs makes the whole kit too which is pretty sweet (been looking into it alot lately). ive heard of guys getting them to rev to 7400K with some ECU work and thats pretty badass IMO. its also got a forged bottom end from factory... its not bad on the budget im going for, and id rather have raw NA V8 Nissan power compared to >SR>KA>CA

and dont get me wrong, i love sr's and was debating on getting one earlier this year, but id rather do this swap. LS1's are sweet and all but meh... i hear z28ricer heading into this thread soon tho

The only thing is that there isn't an aftermarket for that motor
and it's only a 4.5l which isn't that large in the v8 world. Don't get me wrong, I do like them though.

I've been thinking about piecing a small block together on the side for giggles. I really like the sbc stuff for the cost and rather stout block castings.

What aftermarket do you need? It's not like they need TB's or spacers or timing sets, or solid conversions, or any of that crap. Mazworks makes headers and cams for it. People ROM tune the computers. ....?

Here we go....lol

Thats an opinion. There's nothing wrong with pushrods at all. Dohc has in perks but the pushrod design has proven to work over the years. I can't believe I'm saying this but look at nascar. For a v motor to make that power and spin at that rpm for that period of time is flat out amazing....and before you jump the gun, we all know these motors are money and have been balanced and so on to make this possible.

I'm speaking in general. The fact that they might make cams and other parts is great. Now what if someone wants the choice of different specs from an off the shelf part? Of course you can always do custom parts but that's r&d and down time. That's all I was saying.
