Default US spec S13 motor swap ideas.

Im tossing ideas for a S13 240 i can get cheap.

what US spec motor or hybrid could i pull from cofers that would be resonable in cost. NOT a KA.
the fall back plan is just drop in a Twincam KA and call it a day.

how hard is a US spec CA to find or a us spec SR and what would it take to put it in a S13. are these bolt in?

also what combination of parts would yeald a good light balanced revvy motor, for an autoX setup? this would ramanin non turbo so high compression and all out power is not really an issue.
a good powerband would be nice.

Im gunna call this my entry into playing with nissons. this is a first for me.

dan i think you missed this part. "this would ramanin non turbo"

would the sr20de from the 200 sx bolt into a 240? or whould it need mounts? if it needs mounts then its the fall back plan.

i think i would rather have a CA18. kinda try to be a little diffrent.

well
im pretty sure a ca18 will or a ca20 will

you can possibly put the ca16de pulsar head and efi on that
then youd have a make shift ca18de which would be a silvia j's

wtf
look at this, another ricer wanting to jump on the nissan bandwagon...at least you're not asking about an sr20 and what exhaust will give you 50000000 horsepower.

only engine really is the CA...which isn't really all that great without boost imo, but I've never known anybody to try and build one up NA style.

Rumor is ca and ecu from a pulsar, crank and pistons out of a ca20 200sx, tranny from 200sx or maybe swap bellhousings with the ka.

If you're not gonna turbo though, why not just go high comp KA and use the money you'd spend buying a new engine setup on building the one you got?

I know you said not a KA

But honestly, it's a great motor with boltons...

If you want to have fun, drop a built KA24E in that bad boy and carb it...raise the redline to like 8.5 or 9. I've never really heard of anyone wanting to do something so outlandish, especially with the cheap cost of rebuilding a KADE with forged internals and big injectors and spraying the piss out of it.

accaully the idea was to be diffrent. and play around a little. but im gunna just pick up a motor from someone that did a SR swap and didnt hack the shit out of the stock harness.
