i wish it was that easy, lol. the check engine light is on but only when the battery is on (turns off when engine is running) and its throwing a code for just the knock sensor, because the idiots that owned the car before me thought it would be great to take the knock sensor out and leave it out. but i have to unbolt the ecu and take a flat head and turn a screw on the inside all the way to the right and it starts flashing a light and those series of flashes are the codes that tell you what part is at fault. my ecu seems to never throw a code for anything except my non existent knock sensor.

 

Nothing to lose by asking them. Even if the light is not on at the time.

 

so i went to the autozone and described my problem and the first thing the guy said was the intake manifold gasket could be bad since i did recently take off the manifold so i bought some carb cleaner and sprayed in between the intake and the head and the car revved up ALOT, to like 3000rpm. this damn ka has made a fool of me. i guess thats why they say to replace gaskets when you take stuff apart but im lazy and was like "uuuh, it looks fine, screw it." lol. so i replaced it and it runs and pulls just as hard as it used to, no misfires, no rough idles. still gonna get my vh built soon tho
