Default need some input from you experts.

93 240sx, blacktop s13 sr, 180sx diff, non abs.

my 5 speed transmission, always made a little nosie, then the it got worse, soo i just figured it was the trans itself, and found a "SAID GOOD REPLACEMENT" anyways on pulling the trans i found that input shaft collar broke ( the shaft the throw out bearing rides on) , causeing the loud nosie was hearing,

so
replaced the throw out bearing since its had while a bit of mileage along with the pilot bushing while i had it apart,
also took the newer 5 speed transmission i recently aquired and put humpty dumpty back together.

everything seem great after the install, till one week later same noise, took her back apart only to find the same thing, coller broke once again.

im kinda lost on this at the moment, and really need to get my daily back to being reliable, anyone have this problem before?????
any input would be great!!!

i can hopefully answer any queestions you may have, and ill be posting pictures of the this collar prolly tomorrow night.

thanks in advance.

I had the same problem last year. Thought it was the throwout bearing until I dropped the trani. Nope, it was that sleeve. I went to the junkyard and got that front cover piece from another trani from a '40.

It's a common thing for that sleeve to wear out. The throwout bearing itself wears out the aluminum collar at the base. You will just have to thoroughly look over the ones that look at buying. Least minimal wear is what you'll want....obviously.
On all of those covers, there is a tiny hole, (not sure of it's purpose but it was/is designed to be there) it's at the base, where the shaft snaps off at. I bought one, thought it was shit, bought another one. Then I realized that that hole is/was designed to be there.

thanks bro, i saw that hole in the collar your talking bout, its toward the bottom of the collar, but the second collar i used looked like there wasn't any wear on them, but like i said it only took one week for me to break it, which lead me to beleive if got something else wrong, something puttting pressure on that collar.

if you still got that extra front piece i might need it soon, as i robbed the one of my drift slut to fix my daily.

thanks again mane.

Are/did you put lubricant on the shaft? Stupid question, but some people forget or just don't know that it requires lube.

I discarded the old one a while ago, not an every week item that people seek. Sorry.

sounds like something is out of alignment.
take it all apart, and try again.
I had problems when my alignment tool was jacked up from getting used too many times. It was just one of those cheap plastic ones. So I thought everything was good, but it wasn't. Didn't figure it out til I just bought a new alignment tool.

disclaimer, got a stupid migraine, so I'm not thinking straight... so i might be stupid right now.

The last time I saw someone break multiples of them, he was missing the dowel pins for the transmission. Also a good way to avoid misalignment of clutch, cut the input shaft off a bad trans. Its next to impossible to fuck those splines up.
