Default Coilover preference?

Looking to buy new coils. I'm interested if any of you guys have tried and have any say about these brands/styles. All are right around $1100. Aspirations for the car are to be low, although laying frame may be overkill. Car will be slid regularly, and street driven occasionally.

*Powered by Max - $1086 including shipping
*D2- $926 (only coils I've ever owned, and they weren't in the best shape)
*Fortune Auto 500s- $1149
*Function and Form type II- $1169
*Ksport slide control- $1109
*STANCE Super sport- $1125
*Tein Basics- $999
*BC Racing BR type- $999

Any experience with these, or anything you've heard would be appreciated. I'm sure this will help a lot of other people looking too so let's keep the "you're a faggot buy a Honda and kill yourself" comments to a minimum.

So far I've owned ksport and fortune auto. Ridden on stance and tein basics.

Ksport-goes low, but ride quality is terrible.

Stance-not sure on lowness, but rode OK.

Tein basic-very smooth coils, felt almost like a spring/shock combo but slightly stiffer. No independent height adjustment on these, only spring perch, and usually don't come with camber adjusting upper mounts.

Fortune auto (500s)-best coils I've ever been on. Ride superb and I've only went 16/32 clicks so far (no fine tuning yet). Rear will easily tuck a 17 in wheel, fronts go equally as low.

Those are number 2 on my list. I've seen how low they go and im impressed to say the least. Im really interested if anyone has any input about the new PBM coils. I know they go low but I haven't heard anything about the ride.

PBM is in the realm of fortune. Imo, go fortune. Their customer service is great and their coilovers are just as nifty.

Fortune seems to be one of the prefered coil over's right now. A lot better than a good chunk of the other option.
I have never personally driven on them, so I don't have much to say about them, but they do look like a good bang for the buck.

if the car was a daily, then I would say to get the tiens. They aren't the best track car because tiens tend to be a bit softer. But, they were also made to be on cars that get driven everyday. However, I say that with a grain of salt as, in my experience, I found a set of tien springs and kyb agx struts to ride pretty much the same as the coils did. I'm not on for dropping a car on its balls, so the ride height was the same for both set ups. If I was going to get tien coils, I'd be looking to the more expensive set ups.

Where's the "none of the above" option?

I usually recommend Megan Streets. A lot of people hate on them, but I've put 50k miles on mine with no problems. The ride quality is great too, not much stiffer than lowering springs. Just my $.02.

I've driven and ridden in cars with PBM, fortune auto, D2, stance, and k-sport.

PBM: They're great coils, just a tad bit too stiff and harsh on normal roads. They go pretty low.

Stance: Ride great, not to stiff, not to soft, just right. I think they're a bit overpriced though.

K-sport: Sorry to say, but they ride like shit. Blow easy, stiff as fuck, and will give you a teeth chattering ride.

D2: I've only ridden in a friends car with these once or twice, they're ok.

Fortune auto: Best bang for you buck in my opinion, ride awesome, but i'm not sure as of how low they get. I would buy these if i had the money, no doubt

For reals. Youd be better off with Koni Yellows and Hypercoils or Eibachs that suit your needs..

Shock/spring combos like the Koni Yellows don't go as low as I want. Not comfortably anyway. I like how stiff coils ride, which is why I proposed these options.

Are there any other coils in this price range that I've missed that would be better? Fortune Auto is where I'm leaning to now after having done more research.
