Default ECU question

i just got another engine wiring harness and ecu 62. The question is , i had ROM tuning by Martin at Z-Fever and the sticker reads e6 (i looked up it states red top with automatic, Hmm). but i should be able to use the ecu that was tuned for the engine and wiring i purchased? so a little help would be great. Thanks

tune stays with the engine... changing the harness shouldn't make a difference... If that is what you are trying to say you are doing.

yes, i got another red top and im switching all the add on from my old one to the new one, but not using the old harness. the ecu from the new engine is a 62 and the ecu from the old engine e6 but had rom tuning from z-fever for 180sx retop with 550inj zmas and bigger turbo

if the set up is exactly the same (same turbo, same injectors, same everything like that) then you want to keep the tuned ECU.
BUT
if the compression in the new block is different than the old block, that might cause problems.
If it was my car, I'd get everything swapped over, and then give Martin a call and see if any adjustments need to be made.
I'd hate to waste all my time and effort and money swapping engines around, just to blow it up because the tune was off,

i argee with empire! a reflash of your already tuned ecu is roughly $250 from martin, (been a little while since i've had him reflash or tune anything og mine soo i may be off on the pricing)

ok thanks for all the information, so i guess the pins are the same for both ecu. yes i dont want to have the samething happen to the engine, about 1000 miles after the rom tune cylinder #2 piston decided to concave, but that what i get for not having a wide band to see if i was running rich or lean. once again thanks

I bet that 150 dollar wideband would have been cheaper than the redtop.....

IMO, a touchup may be needed. Most engine combinations may run slightly different A/F ratios due to slight voltage differences between chassis and slight differences in dynamic compression. A wideband will let you know if a touchup is needed.
