Default S14 trunk torsion bar install

Okay, here's the deal. I need to swap torsion bars in my trunk with base model ones because I know longer have a deck lid spoiler. I'm sick of my trunk exploding every time I open it. I have the new torsion bars from Nissan, but it is such a fucking pain in the ass to install them. There has to be a tool to install them without the chance of losing a digit or maiming myself. Nissan wants $100 to do it and I basically told them to kick rocks. I'm not paying $100 to install $30 worth of parts. So who's done it, and what's the secret? I've removed them before on other cars using a large 3/8 extension but was never successfully able to re-install a set.

I can't believe nobody's done this before... Are all of your cars shitty with exploding or missing trunk torsion bars or do you all run spoilers with the correct bars in the trunk?

I have a lip spoiler on my trunk (removed that hideous surf board) and it "explodes" open, well maybe not "explodes" but opens a helluva lot faster than with the wing on it... It doesn't bother me, not sure why it bothers you so much.

Mine is pretty force full to the point where I feel like it's going to break my rear glass when it bounces. I have the base model torsion bars. Why not install them and make it the way Nissan intended..? I'm just looking for an easy way to do it without fucking my trunk or myself up.

I suppose, I just don't see there being enough torsion from your deck lid bouncing to actually shatter the rear glass. Goodluck finding someone that has done it.

Problem solved via a large screwdriver and hulk force.
