Brake Light Stuck On (99 Altima)
The brake light on my 1999 Altima is stuck on, even with car ignition off and key taken out. I already removed the fuse to cut the light off.
I'm assuming it's the brake switch and I've heard it can be easily repaired with a nickel or a nut but I'm not sure exactly where to place it and if it's even recommended.
Now I did find some rubber/plastic bits on the ground the day after this happened if that is any help.

Also I did search prior to posting this and found nothing. Currently skimming Google for help.

yep. that's the piece that broke.
get up under there and you ought to be able to see where the pedal comes up and where it would push the switch to turn the lights on and off. there is a hole there where that little rubber/plastic piece used to be.
you can either get a new piece, or stick a nickel or something up there. pretty much anything to cover that hole will work. I've always used a spit of jb weld and a nickel in my 240's since that is a common occurrence.
