Opinions on clutch disc with stock pressure plate
Im about to hit up Tampa Clutch Supply for a new disc to use in my 5spd swap...I was looking at three discs..
Stock replacement $35
6 puck sprung $120
6 puck solid $80
In all likely hood this car wont make any real power on this engine/trans setup so Im not worried about upgrading the pressure plate. I was about to just buy a 6 puck solid clutch but I thought Id ask if you guys had any experience with different discs on the stock PP first. I cant see any reason why it wouldnt work, but Im a newbie to clutches really. So any input is appreciated. Thanks!

if you're stock, or close to stock, then just go for the stock replacement will will be more than enough.
if you beat on it and drift it and all of the noise, but still drive it everyday, then you consider the 6 puck sprung.
driving on an unsprung clutch is annoying. Sure, it has good bite. nice, instant engagement. BUT, you don't really want instant engagement when you are dealing with traffic. Or even attempting to accelerate slowly.
My friends daily drifter has a 6 puck unsprung clutch with a stock pressure plate and everyone stalls that thing until you get the hang of it, and then you have to really pay attention to it, you can't just drive it. It is a real major pain backing in and out of a parking space.
if you're looking for an easy to drive, but grips really well, look into the white bunny set up... rhart has a thread somewhere around here talking about it and all of the different options to set it up.
That will give a stock feel, stock drive ability, but nice aftermarket grip. Best option in my opinion for a daily driven car to step up from stock.

Stock disc with a heavier pressure plate ftw. Smooth engagement with higher clamp load.
