AWD4g63

a couple days ago i took my head off my car and took it to a machine shop to get checked/cleaned. and when i had the cams out i noticed there is some adjustment on the factory intake vtc gear. and was wondering where this should be set at. im guessing theres about 10-15* of adjustment and my gear is fully advanced. is this how it comes from the factory? or is it set completely wrong.
