Like the topic says, are there any stronger differentials available for the S13? Has anyone swapped in Ford 8.8s or anything like that? I'm looking at trying to hold back a 400-500RWTQ V8.... and not in a 240...just using a 240 rearsubframe...

 

The Z diff should be able to handle that (R230).

 

To use the R230, he'll need the complete Z32 TT rear subframe I believe, but yeah that would be the strongest choice.

For the record, im pretty sure a ford 8.8 would technically be a downgrade from a R230

 

An R200 will hold 500ftlbs. I'm pretty sure the AMS 1000hp S14.5 had a welded R200 and it lasted as long as the car did.

 

Quite a few people have broken the output's to lots of R200's

The Q45, GTR's, and Z32 use larger outputs, which are notably harder to break.

 

a friend of mine's getting a armada rear diff. for his z. he's looking to put 1,000+ hp to it. should be the r230.

however the armadas r230 diff is like a 2.9 gear ratio

 

^^That's correct,,z32 diff wont fit on the stock s13,s14 subframe.

 

kazz 1.5 way and dss stg 5s
