Weld my turbo to manifold
I think I seen a pic that showed it done before (tims?) . Anyway, I want someone to weld my gt28r to my stock cast iron manifold. Dont give me any shit! I have another gt28r turbine housing and stock sr exhaust mani's are like 10 bux. Dont need the shitty mani to turbo gasket failing. If you can weld cast iron, are good and wont charge an arm and a leg then LMK. If you think its a bad idea then go ahead and give your input.
I broke my muffler at desoto and that made my gasket fail (or the Bee*r did it lol whateves).

just do what blackzenki said, do not waste your money welding your turbo to the mani. And how would breaking your muffler make the turbo/manifold gasket fail? sounds like to me you just had a old worn out gasket (shrug)
NO NO NO!!! I just did a full rebuild on my motor! That means new OEM gasket set and new locking tabs! Bee* R's are known to Kill these gaskets fast!!! The shock from the muffler/hangers breaking then draging it around the track when still drifting is what I think did it.
Im welding it! Thats that! I have no need to ever have to take the turbo off the mani.

interesting!! do you have a flex section on your down pipe?
i still think its a waste of time and money but that's my opinion.
hell if your gonna do all that why not make it a vband so then if something does happen and you need to pull it off, then there is no headache.

to OP
I've had a lot of Turbo gaskets go out on me while drifting, Ive found this to be the best method.
The stock cast manifold holds up best to desoto's terribly harsh bumps
HOW NOT TO GET EXHAUST LEAKS for dummies: (DRIFTING INCLUDED)
*Locking nuts (tightened)
*Oem locking Tabs (if a baller)
*Flex section
*Transmission bracket to dp (help with shocks from bumps)
*All Hangers attached mounted with rubber hanger bushings. (in good shape)
If you have all of those things and your not terribly slammed on the ground, you should be fine.
welding a manifold to turbo seems like a good idea because you never want to have an exhaust leak, but when you have no more exhaust leak you'll think back and wonder why you did it
