06 Maxima
Just got a 06 maxima and im looking on some input to make it a little quicker.
Its got some balls truthfully stock but i was just wondering on the aftermarket selection when it comes to the newer maximas and some info on what the engine and transmission can handle powerwise in these.
Got a good amount saved up so looking to make it a nice sleeper.
Rep for info

you could turbo your maxima but that is the obvious reply. i would stay NA if it were me. Martin at Z fever has figured out how to hack the computer and get around 280ish to the wheel on the 06 motors. i would go with a Kinetix intake manifold, that will set you back around $800 and it is beautiful and functional, Injen cai, exhaust and $600 on ecu like i was explaining.. with the kinetix and the other bolt-ons you should see 280ish whp.. call martin i pmd his number to you. he actually has an ecu on his 3rd gen it is pretty sleeperish..

I've owned an 02' Maxima, and an 03' Altima, and they are AMAZING cars. They're fun, good looking and well worth their money.
VQ35DE motors aren't that fun in my opinion. They don't handle boost too well. Naturally aspirated they can only make like 340hp(seriously). However, since I'm sure you're not trying to make a racecar out of this, a full rebuild is out of the question, I'd stick with an intake, exhaust and a good tune.
If you do a rebuild, spray the shit out of it, and make sure it's built by someone who knows these motors very well. I made the mistake of trusting a Nissan Tech to build mine, and it only lasted 500 miles after the break-in, and I didn't even get to spray.
