Here is one for ya...
ok here is the verdict as of this morning.. Tried a different distributor, same issue, tried a different wiring harness, same issue..
thats just what I was thinking,
That's why I threw compression out there.
The dizzy was my last random, off the wall idea that could cause this.
That's what it was on what's his name's car. The shaft was warped, made the CAS tweak. The car would run for literally ten minutes (give or take 20 seconds) (yeah, I timed it several times) and it would just drop off spark to the different cylinders, starting at 4, then 3 then 2 and dead.
how long does the engine run?
is it pretty much the same amount of time every time?
does it start right back up? how much time does it take before it will start again? and/or what does it take to get it to start?
While it is running, is it strong? or is it just barely keeping itself alive?
Have you tried to drive it?

no vac leaks... Not a coil issue switch the coil and igniter out with a couple different ones. I really was hoping it was the distributor too. Runs for about 5 seconds then just like dies... and when it does run it seems to run pretty good and strong. If i give it throttle and hold the throttle open it will stay running and rev up. Its not backfiring through the intake anymore like it was before and revs up pretty smooth so i seemed to have corrected half of the problem some how, now if i could just keep the thing running on its own then we would be ok. No I have not tried to drive it yet, I still need to make a gas pedal for the thing and then i can try to take it around the block
yea, ecu was swapped out... I think we are getting it narrowed down tho.. i'll let you know if we get it fully corrected today
Wiggle/check the MAF wires... I get this on my Nissan truck everyonce in awhile. Idles real low, almost chugs and will eventually stall out. But it'll continue to fire right up, just have to give it some gas.
