Default 240sx trunk adjustment

Hey guys, I recently removed the spoiler on my s14's trunk lid. Now the trunk opens with the force of an ejector seat... I'm afraid it might smash my glass, or warp the trunk. I noticed that there are two rods that provide tension to the trunk lid causing it to lift. I removed one of them and now the trunk doesn't open forcefully anymore but it also is unable to stay open by itself now. Can any of you wingless guys tell me how your trunk springs are oriented, or perhaps take a picture of how they are set? Any help is appreciated. I tried searching google and a number of other forums to no avail.

im not sure on S chassis, but a lot of manufacturers have two different set of torsion rods in this kind of instance. wing/ non wing would have different rods.

Im going through the same thing Kevin haha. What I do is pop the trunk open and quickly move my hand to stop it before it does the whiplash movement. Or I open it with the key outside. It's annoying me as well, but I just never got around to do anything about it.

the cheap easy way would be to bed the bars lil by lil. will take some time. and if u start to bend in the wrong way u will know when u put them back on cause it will fly faster.

duct tape a bunch of quarters to the underside of it, adds value to your car at the same time
