Most of the people in this thread with megans have had nothing else and don't do anything with their car to notice.
So your saying the stance's ride and perform really well? would you recomend them to someone who will be using them primarily for street use with the occasion auto-x? i have been eying the stances for a bit now.

stances are pretty good stuff.
im actually kinda pissed, because stances had just come out when i bought my jic's and were a little cheaper, but i didnt want to be the test dummy and buy something nobody had. plus it didnt help that the enjuku dudes were hyping them to be "the best shit ever" when 3 months ago megans were "the best shit ever" since they were sponsored and whatever.
but yeah, bought my jic's, and wish i had gotten stance. oh well. what can you do.

also, just want to point this out, but nismoz charlie usually places top 5 fastest at every autocross ive ever been to with him on stock struts, megan springs, and godspeed sway bars, sometimes with mismatched tires even.
so, driver skill will win over whatever stiff as a metal rod bullshit you buy no matter what really.

To be honest, the Megans ride pretty nice, go pretty low, and are cheap as fuck. I don't really see a problem with them. They're not bouncy if you preload them, and there is a nice difference between clicks on the shocks. Sure I don't have the wheel clearance that Tim has with his JIC's or Tommy's Koni's, but that doesn't effect me in my wheel selection, so I don't care. Would I want to daily drive the car? Fuck that shit. But I can't say that I've ever driven any S-chassis on coilovers that was terribly comfortable.

And I've had cusco's and those badgerwerks things on my red S13, stances (gf's car - rode like complete shit because they were set up wrong IMO), Kei office on my blue S14, and now I'm on megans in the white S13. I really can't tell a night and day difference between any of them. Even Tim's JIC's ride pretty similar to my Megans.

I'm glad the suspension issue just came up. I have not yet lowered my car (S13) and was searching for something that i could use for everyday street use and still be able to go to the drift track on the weekends. I picked up a set of KYB blues off craigslist for $100 that were new and couldn't pass that deal up, but i'm not sure if I'm going to use them. I am sitting at stock height and would like some ideas. I am not really a fan of tein only because I am being told you can get just as nice or a nicer product for cheaper. I'm looking in the 750-900 dollar range. what do you guys think?

My stance's are a lot more comfortable street wise than my Megans were. They are also twice the size and I had to run a 5mm spacer to clear my 9+22. I think my car is pretty comfortable and quiet even with coilovers.

Yes, I would definitely recommend them. They are comfortable and they also come with free 9k/7k springs if you want to go even stiffer. For the price level, they GR+ pro are the best coilover in my opinion.

It always cooler to say you have coilovers instead of shocks and springs , LOL . IMO, money should be spent on good quality stuff . Thats just me though. I don't really care what other people do. I don't have to drive their cars.

In that range, www.shox.com

you've got all the ones I listed, several spring/shock stock style combos, that will be much higher quality than megans, and just barely outside that window the koni/gc coilover combo, again, i'd take every day of the week, and twice on sunday over them.

Sean, I can definetly notice a ride difference in seans car on his coilovers vs other cars i've been in on others, and other stuff i've been in with bilstein, koni, etc, step right in line if not over the ride in seans car, im not saying megans will immediately fall out from under the car, i'm just saying a koni, or tokico adjustable stock shock/strut set and some eibach or BG springs, setup will peform better, and be low enough that most people really wouldnt screw with it, and can enjoy some actual performance.

I figure once you're stupid low like I am, everything else in the suspension is bent so out of proper geometry that it's going to handle like shit no matter what coilovers I use
