NEED HELP! rb25det high idle
When's the last time you pulled an IACV on an RB25 David? Right...
OP, double check that the throttle plate is fully closed and that the throttle cable can fully extend. I had an SR that the throttle was being held open slightly and it took me forever to figure out why it was idling so high. Make sure the screw behind the throttle plate allows it to close all the way as well.

Maybe nissans with screw adjuster IAC's do that, but guess what lots of "gasoline engines" are most certainly RPM+CTS linked for idle.
NO.
Gasoline engine rpms are solely dependent on how much air is getting into the intake manifold.
High idle is ALWAYS a vac/intake manifold gasket leak and/or malfunctioning IACV. Period.
Not timing.
Not CTS.
Not TPS.
Your CTS is just there to richen the mixture when the engine is cold.
Thanks for playing.

But I cant imagine you being able to do this by yourself.
The throttle plate is definately closed all the way. That was onE of the first things i checked. And I'm about to go pull the iacv off and clean it. I'm hoping that works because I'm not looking forward to tracking down an electrical issue lol

i pulled and cleaned the iacv thingy (pretty easy with this isis plenum lol) it was pretty nasty in there. put it back on and adjusted the idle screw on it and it made a small difference. and then i got nosey and pinched off the vacuum hoses going to the iacv. if i pinch off the one coking directly fromthe intake plenum the car dies completely. and if i pinch off the one coming from the intercooler pipe it just idles down alott. does this mean the aac motor is bad? or that i might have a stealth vacuum leak...

and this is a pic of my tps. should the open plug have wires running to it? i was told you only have to hook that up on auto cars. but idk if that is correct or not

idk what tb it has. havent really looked into it much. how would i go about removing the idle stuff on it if it is a q45? i also figured out i have a series 2 ecu on a series 1 engine. is this an issue? and whats a good safe boost level to run on stock ecu/injectors. its about 8 now.
