Default usually the 300zxtt's for 5 6 k are POS. Most good ones cost

10 k and above. Yes you can make them fast. No its not cheap. Yes they are reliable up to 500 rwhp on stock internals.

It's very easy, and cheap too.

It's called this.

1) sds fuel injection ($800)
2) custom fuel rails ($100)
3) msd 72 lb injetors ($600)
4) JWT sport 600s ($2000)
5) bad-ass clutch ($500)
6) open exhaust (free)

done.

i own all of you slowpokes.

Default ummmn not THAT easy - here is what i think you need

1. Nismo injectors (555) $ 900
2. Dual pop intake $ 510
3. JWT ECU $ 550 + your core
4. 5 bolt flange Down pipes $ 500
5. Test pipes $ 400
6. Decent cat back $ 600
7. Underdrive pulley $ 110
8. AFC (to fine tune the fuel) $ 300
9. Boost controller $ 300
10. REAL Boost guage $ 150
11. Dual EGT guages $ 300
12. Full T28 (sport 600) turbos $ 2400 + your core
13. JWT race cams $ 900
14. JWT Clutch $450

This should get you 450 rwhp on pump gas and 500 on race gas assuming your motor is healthy. You may need to do several other mods to get the power down to the ground. (suspension and driveshaft)
Thats the basics that i can think off. Remember there is no point doing things half assed with a Z because you pay far more in the long run. If you want a POS that runs like crap - go ahead and take shortcuts

Default well here we go again

I assume from your car is a Z31 ? Honestly i don't know much about those. I do know about Z32's tho. You could set up any car to use a SDS injection system and you could probably tweek it to produce a lot of power but your average joe dosn't know or have the time to spend on a stand alone system. JWT is plug and play, safe in the hands of a novice and less intimidating. Here is what you mention in your post.

1) sds fuel injection ($800)
2) custom fuel rails ($100)
3) msd 72 lb injetors ($600)
4) JWT sport 600s ($2000)
5) bad-ass clutch ($500)
6) open exhaust (free)

What i don't understand is how you propose to tune a car without EGT or boost guages. Also 99 % of the people do not prefer to run an open exhaust. You also make no mention of cooling the intake charge by upgrading intercoolers.

While it is possible to temporarily make hp without good cooling it won't last long in the real world.

hrm ok, lets add the stillens for about what, 950. add one more set up on there, but honestly i would use the stockers probably with propane injetion for only $200 and it would work better.

And how to tune iwthout EGT's? easily. gap plugs and tune on a wideband.

Default Tuning without EGT's

In my experience - even tho the A/F might be right on a wideband - your EGT's may be too high or too low. I saw 900 C + on my DSM even with the A/F right around 12 - 12.5 :1 on the dyno. I know for a fact that 900 + is not going to last too long. Hi EGT's could be due to several reasons. Here are 2 that are most commonly found on turbo cars.

1. too much overlap between intake and exhaust cams
2. Backflow from exhaust manifold into the combustion chamber - reversion) - usually if the A/R of the exhaust side is too small compared to the compressor side leading to too much back pressure.
3. ECU retarding timing to compensate for high knock count. (typical for turbo cars)

So you see even tho you might be seeing A/f's that seem safe sometimes its not the ideal tuning due to high EGT's. Thats the reason you must monitor EGT's.

thanks
