Well, so the story goes, I have been looking at local 96 240sx SE and all was well.. Until the test drive and I decided to play with the brakes, now when I veryyy gently press on them there is no sound, but just tapping the brake a little harder made an odd 'chunking' sound.

The car has ABS, and I'm not sure if it has one or not.. but possibly VLSD noise? Or is this more of a suspension thing? The car is lowered and has Tanabe struts and Eibach springs.. I'm not sure what the hell the noise is caused by and whether I should be worried or not. Car also has new brakes in the rear as well... I'm not sure if any of these things are even culprits. But I'd like to know if anybody has any input on this before I buy it.

I have searched and searched but can't seem find a clear answer for this..

 

make sure shits is tight. that means get your wrenchs an tighten evreything yourself

subframe bushings pulling its pants down and getting ready to take a shit???

 

I was thinking that.. but would that make the 'chunking' noise? I guess I've never heard what a bushing sounds like right before it bites it lol

 

Open diff needs a fluid change or is going out, or subframe bushings.

 

front subframe bushings. Those are notorious for going out on S14's and clunking.

 

Never mind all this horseshit.. I found a better car for a better deal lol

If all goes well I should finally be back in the biz in about 2ish days....
